Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of transrectal ultrasound guided biopsy of prostate in detecting prostatic cancer.Methods Prostatic puncture and biopsy guided by transrectal ultrasound was performed in 40 patients suspected of prostate cancer.Results 21cases were prostatic cancer,15 benign hyperplasia,2 atypical hyperplasia,2 chronic prostatic inflammation.Conclusion Transrectal ultrasound guided 6+X point puncture biopsy of the prostate is a safe and effecitve method to diagnose prostate carcinoma.
