Features of urban culture as found in works by the neo-sensualists, ZHANG Ailing and WANG Shuo

Through an analysis of tile different implications of the features of urban culiure reflectedin works by the neo-sensualists, by ZHANG Ailing and by WANG Shuo, this paper discusses theirdifferent literary value orientations, and the characteristic features both of urban changes and timechanges manifested by these different literary value orientations. Also, the paper, through an analysis ofthe different individual principles founded commonly on the alienation experienced by all of them in thecourse of urban modernization, expounds the differences derived from different individual spiritualpursuits by almost the same esthetic standard.
