Antipyretic Effects of Ibuprofen Suspension and Mixed Paracetamol Suspension Drops

Abstract

Objective To study the antipyretic effects of ibuprofen suspension and mixed paracetamol suspension drops.Methods 230 children with fever symptoms were randomly divided into two groups:ibuprofen group(120 cases) and paracetamol group(110 cases).Ibuprofen group took ibuprofen suspension 7 mg/kg each time,paracetamol group took mixed paracetamol suspension drops 10~15 kg/kg each time.The changes of temperature were recorded after taking drugs 1~6 hours.Results The both antipyretic effects in 2 hours had no significant defference(P0.05).The antipyretic effects of ibuprofen in 3 hours was significantly better than that of paracetamol group.The temperature of paracetamol group went up in 4 hours.The antipyretic rate was 77.5%.The antipyretic effects of ibuprofen was still remained in 6 hours.Its antipyretic rate was 90%.Conclusion Ibuprofen suspension has better antipyretic effects and keep longer time.
