Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of improved vacuum sealing drainage combined with abscess incision drainage treatment of oral and maxillofacial infections. Methods Collection of80 cases with oral and maxillofacial infections were investigated by case-control study.40 cases were treated with improved vacuum sealing drainage(experimental group),another 40 cases were treated with traditional incision drainage(control group). Results One of the mouth floor cellulitis patients in control group treated with conventional treatment methods died because of mediastinum infection. One case of cellulitis patients in experimental group treated with improved vacuum sealing drainage died, due to multiple organ failure. All the rest were cured. Both of the cure rate were 97.5%.Compared to the control group, the time of healing and antibiotic using in experimental group was relatively shorter,as well as a smaller incision. The difference was statistically significant(P 0.05) Conclusion Improved vacuum sealing drainage in the treatment of oral and maxillofacial infections has obtained good results, which makes little pain, faster healing, less times of dressing changes, reduce the use of antimicrobial agents,it has beauty, safety, small surgical trauma and the effect of protecting important organization.
