Study on Methane-Coal Dust Explosion Pressure in a Horizontal Pipeline

Abstract

In order to research the effect of methane-coal dust mix explosion in a horizontal pipe,and control gas-methane explosion in mine,an experimental research was carried out to have an insight to the change of explosion pressure on different methane-coal dust concentration,and coal dust particle size by using an autonomous horizontal pipeline gas-dust explosion experimental device. The results show that the maximum explosion pressure increases firstly and then decreases with the addition of methane-coal dust concentration,and the explosion pressure reach maximum when the methane-coal dust concentration is 5% methane and 400 g /m3coal dust concentration; Different methane-coal dust concentration has different maximum explosion pressure,the growth and decline of maximum explosion pressure have significant differences,the greatest one is 42% and 52 % respectively; The relationship between coal dust particle size and explosion pressure linearly decreases. In the range of 43~ 125 μm,the larger coal dust particle size is,the smaller explosion pressure is.
