Abstract

The new discovery, thick porphyry molybdenum(copper) ore body,in the deep of resources crisis mine in Laochang of Lancang will be the crucial substitute resources in the medium and long term development of mining resources. The research on the Re content and relationship with Mo,as an associated component of molybdenum(copper) ore body,is helpful for economic evaluation of deposit and resources exploration and development process.Based on ICP-MS method to determine the contents of Mo and Re among ores, major ore minerals and gangue minerals in molybdenum ore body, the paper applies statistical principle to study the relationship between Re and Mo contents in related ores. The result shows that Re contents in industrial molybdenum deposit is only 0.17×10-6 in average, but more than 87 percent of Re is hosted in molybdenite with an average of 164.2×10-6.It is also found that Re and Mo contents show a significant linear correlation and the formula is y=0.63x+0.14.It is expected to retrieve Re from molybdenite concentrate in development and utilization of molybdenum ore resources to enhance the economic value of resources.
