Abstract

Objective To discuss the application of multi-slice spiral CT three-dimensional pyelography in the diagnosis of renal masses. Methods Routine two-phases enhancement after intravenous injection of 80-100 ml contrast and delayed spiral CT scanning after 4-15 minutes was performed to 22 patients with renal masses, including 14 carcinoma, 1 renal metastasis, 5 cysts, 2 angioleiomyolipoma, which were proved by operative pathology or clinics. Images were delivered to the workstation, where VR, MPR, MIP, and VE were obtained. Results Renal lesions as well as the changes of renal pelvis and upper ureter were displayed well. Renal Pelvis distortion were identified in 22 cases, hydronephrosis in 20 cases, local destruction of renal pelvis in 9 cases. Conclusion Multi-slice spiral CT three-dimensional pyelography is helpful in the diagnosis of renal masses.
