Abstract
The protective effect of Zhongfengxingnao (ZFXN) oral liquid on cerebral ischemia in mice was investigated. Acute cerebral ischemia model was successfully induced by decapitation and ligation of bilateral carotid arteries in mice. The model mice treated with ZFXN oral liquid 25.0、16.7 or 8.3 g/kg (ig) were significantly prolonged in survival time after ligation of bilateral common carotid artery and asthmatic time after decapitation. And moreover, ZFXN oral liquid can remarkably reduce LPO in the brain. The results indicated that ZFXN oral liquid has the protective effect on acute cerebral ischemia injury.
