Abstract
Benzoic acid as phase transfer catalyst and Mn3+/Mn2+ as intermedium, benzaldhyde was indirectly electrosynthesized from toluene by out-cell.The influence of H2SO4 concentration, temperature and the dose of benzoic acid on the reaction rate and the yield of benzaldehyde was investigated by orthogonal experiment. And the results showed that the yield of benzaldehyde was more than 93% at 85 ℃ when 8 g benzoic acid was dissolved in 1 L toluene and 51.6% H2SO4 in the Mn(Ⅲ) solution.
