Abstract

Objective To discuss the skill, safety and effectiveness of CT guided bone biopsy technique. Materials and Methods Under CT guidance, bone biopsy was performed in 38 patients with various bone lesions, including vertebral lesions (n=16) and other bone lesions (n=22). Aspiration, core needle biopsy and coaxial bone biopsy were used according to different conditions. Results The procedure was successfully done in all patients with a diagnostic accuracy of 92%. No severe complications occurred. Conclusion CT guided percutaneous bone biopsy is a safe and reliable technique for the diagnosis of bone lesions, it is especially preferable for vertebral lesions.
