Expression of NF-κB and TNF-α in Placenta of Patients with Preeclampsia and Its Significance

Objective To investigate the expression and its significance of the nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in placenta of patients with preeclampsia.Methods The expression of the NF-κB and TNF-αwas detected in placenta of 20 cases of mild preeclampsia,20 cases of severe preeclampsia and 20 cases of normal pregnancy,respectively.Results There were increased expression of NF-κB and TNF-αin preeclampsia compared to those in normal pregnancy(P0.01),furthermore the expression of NF-κB and TNF-α have increasing tendency with aggravation.The expression of NF-κB and TNF-αin placenta of normal pregnancy and preeclampsia was positively correlated.Conclusion The NF-κB and TNF-αmay play important role in the process of vascular endothelium activation and damage,so might be important causes of pathogenesis of preeclampsia.
