Abstract
Objective To study the effectiveness of sandostain and loperamide for chemotherapy-induced diarrhea.MethodsNinty-seven patients with grade 3 diarrhea with sandostain(0.1mg i.h,q8h),and loperamide 4mg at the first time and then 2mg each four hours orall.Result97 patients were evaluable for response. The overall response rate was 91.75%(89/97),diarrhea was controlled in 3 days in 89 patients.Diarrhea was not controlled in 6 patients even until the seventh day, which were regarded as treatment failure.1 patient died from diarrhea.ConclusionSandostain and loperamide can control chemotherapy-induced diarrhea significantly.
