Abstract

Objective To assess the clinical efficacy of edaravone in treatment of acute cerebral infarction. Methods Sixty patients with acute cerebral infarction admitted within 48 hours of onset were enrolled in this study and randomly allocated to edaravone group and control group each consited of 30 cases. Those in control group received ligustrazine injection plus aspirin Enteric-coated Tablets.Besides the similar therapy as used for the control group, the edaravone group received i.v.edaravone 30mg,twice a day for 14 days. The patients' the neural function in both groups were analyzed before treatment,7 days and 14 days after treatment. Results A week after the effective rates in edarabvone group, control were 76.7% and 50% showing significant diffferences(P0.05),while that two weeks after treatment were 96.7% and 66.7% in the treatment group and the control group, also showed significnt differences(P0.05).Conclusion Edaravone can effectively improve the neurological function of acute cerebral infarction, and inhibits the progress of cerebral infarction without adverse reactions.
