Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of acupotomy on 5-HT and PGE2 in serum and muscle of rabbits with frozen shoulder in different pathological stage,so as to explore possible mechanism of acupotomy and the time to intervene. Methods Forty male New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into normal group, model group, acupotomy group A(intervene at pain stage),acupotomy group B(intervene at stiffness stage),acupotomy group C(intervene at pain stage and stiffness stage),8 rabbits in each group.Method of continued strain plus ice compress was used to induce the frozen shoulder rabbit model, and samples were taked on day 33.The serum, biceps, supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscle were taken to observe the change of 5-HT and PGE2.Results In model group,5-HT and PGE2 in serum and muscle increased significantly(P0.01) compared with normal group, and which of the three acupotomy groups decreased compared with model group.5-HT and PGE2 in serum and muscle of acupotomy group C decreased significantly(P0.05,P0.01) compared with model group, and the effect on regulating 5-HT and PGE2 was more obvious than acupotomy group A and acupotomy group B.Conclusion Acupotomy has a benign effect on regulating 5-HT and PGE2 in serum and muscle with frozen shoulder in different pathological stage, and the effect of intervention at pain stage and stiffness stage is better.
