Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical value of typical features of thyroid nodules on ultrasonography.Methods The ultrasonographic images of 89 thyroid nodules with typical features were stored and classified into benign and malignant nodules,which were compared with the results of final needle aspiration.Result The coincidence rate of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of thyroid benign nodules was 83.3%(20/24),and the coincidence rate of thyroid malignant nodules was 93.8%(61/65).The total coincidence for ultrasonogrphy was 91.0%(81/89) and the error rate was 83.3%(8/89).Conclusion The typical features of thyroid nodules on ultrasonography are helpful in diagnosis of benign or malignant nodules,which is valuable for clinical management.
