Abstract

The intracellular neurofibrillary tangle leaded to by the hyperphosphorylated tau protein is one of the major pathological characters of the Alzheimer’s disease(AD).The hyperphosphorylated tau protein will make the microtube instable. Finally, the synapse between the neurons will be lost. There are many factors regulate the phosphorylation of tau protein, and the dysfunction of these factors may lead to the abnormal phosphorylation of tau protein. The basic structure and function of tau protein, the post-translational modification of tau protein as well as the function of the kinase and the phosphatase during phosphorylation regulation, play key roles on pathology, prevention and treatment ofAD.
