A Review of Validity Theory:A Contrastive Analysis of Similarities and Differences Based on the Fourth Edition of Educational Measurement

Since the proposal of the concept of validity in 1921,the validity theory has been a core concern of the community of psychological measurement.Validity in the long history of evolution,has been showing a variety of types.This paper argues that the construct validity which was proposed in 1954,has marked the start of the psychological measurement consciously moving away from the traditional validity evidence,but towards the scientific measurement.Construct validity is to establish the validity of proof theory,but A Rational progress has come very slowly(Wiley 1991:76).Under the influence of pragmatism and operationism,construct validity theory is departed from the original theory of mind,and has very different ideas from the scientific measurement.
