Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of a modified method of retention enema using traditional Chinese medicine for chronic ulcerative colitis.Methods 80 patients receiving retention enema were randomly divided into two groups: 27 patients using the regular method as control group and 53 patients using the modified method as the study group.Results Better clinical effects were observed in the study group than in the control group, the difference being statistically significant (P0.01).Conclusion The modified method can improve the therapeutic effect of retention enema.
