Abstract

Objective To analyze the drug resistance of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from the patients in the People's Hospital of Guiyang County in the last two years, and to provid a basis for rational use of antimicrobial agents in clinic. Methods Identification and antimicrobial susceptibility test of Staphylococcus aureus were determined with TDR-200B Microbiological Analysis System. The results were analyzed by WHONET5.3 software. Results Among the 98 strains of Staphylococcus aureus,65 strains(66.3%) were methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA),mainly from sputum, wound exudates and pus, etc. The detected MRSA were sensitive to vancomycin and teicoplanin.Their resistance rates to chloramphenicol, minocycline and rifampin were 24.6%,27.7% and 52.3% respectively. The drug resistance rates of MRSA to other antimicrobial agents were all greater than 80% and were higher than those of methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus. Conclusions Among Staphylococcus aureus isolated in clinic,MRSA has high resistance rates to many antimicrobial agents. Many MRSA strains are multi-drug resistant. The drug resistance of MRSA should be closely monitored in laboratories for the benefit of rational use of antimicrobial agents in clinic.
