Abstract
Tourism exploitation should be a sustainable way for development of nature reserve. But in some nature reserves because of lack of ecological thinking and protection measures, the exploitation caused the decline of the landscape resource and damage of the protected objects. The principles and methods of landscape ecology can be applied to resolve those problems. Landscape ecology is derived from the combination of geography and ecology, which has been widely applied in natural conservation undertakings, landscape planning and physical resources management, etc. The theories of ecological integrity and spatial heterogeneity, landscape diversity, edge effect and landscape dynamics can be used in tourism exploitation and management for nature reserve, the functional landscape areas should be delimitated, an ecological plan worked out and the landscape structure be designed by the methods of landscape ecology. Also ecoeducation for administrative staff, tourists and local residents should be applied in the exploitation and management of the natural resources, which would contribute to sustainable development of the nature reserve.
