Abstract

Objective:To assess the relationship between neonatal severe pneumonia and platelet. Methods:We test platelet count, mean platelet volume, platelet hematocrit and platelet distribution width in 40 patients whom diagnosed neonatal severe pneumonia;moreover,we compared the platelet change in acute phase and recovery phase. Results: Mean platelet volume, platelet hematocrit and platelet distribution width in acute phase were higher than those in recovery phase;meanwhile, platelet count increased with recovery of pneumonia(P0.05).Conclusion:Observing platelet change is helpful for the evaluation of neonatal severe pneumonia.
