Abstract
Objective To investigate the activity of NF-κB after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion in rats. Methods Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury was induced by 90 min of middle cerebral artery(MCA) occlusion and followed by 2h,6h,12h,24h,72h reperfusion. The infarct volume was determined by TTC stain.Level of NF-κB P65 was determined by western blot. Results The time course of NF-κB induction in brain showed that NF-κB P65 subunit obviously increased at 6h,peaked at 24h and then decreased by 72h postreperfusion. There was an increase trend in brain infarct area by time. Conclusions The level of NF-κB was increased after ischemia-reperfusion and it attenuated brain injury.
