Abstract
Objective To observe the protection effect of rebamipide to acute alcoholic injure on gastric mucosa of rat. Methods The injure model was made by direct perfusion of alcohol or alcohol plus rebamipide into rat stomach. The injure index was observed at different time (0, 15, 30, 60 min) respectively. Tissue TNF-α was determined by ABC immunochemistry method. Plasma PGE2 and serum NO were determined by ELISA method and nitrate reducing enzyme method. Results The alcohol temporally injured the gastric mucosa heavily. While rebamipide could not only reduce the extent of injure (compared to alcohol group or control group, P0.05), but also inhibit the expression of TNF-α in gastric mucosa. And this inhibition effect temporally-became more apparent. After drinking for 30 minutes, rebamipide apparently increased the level of serum NO (P0.01) and plasma PGE2 (P0.05). After 60 minutes, the level of plasma PGE2 in Rebamipide group was even higher than that of normal group (P0.01).Conclusion Rebamipide can decrease the expression of TNF-α in gastric mucosa, and apparently increase the level of serum NO and Plasma PGE2.
