Study on the self-care ability and its related factors in patients with mild cognitive impairment

Objective To investigate the self-care agency and its related factors in patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI),so as to provide reference for nursing intervention.Method The outpatients with MCI and dementia were investigated with Self-Rated Abilities for Health Practices(SRAHP),Activity of Daily Living Scale(ADL),and Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA).Results The average score of SRAHP was(91.24±20.61)points in patients with MCI,which had significant difference between the group of patients with MCI and patients with dementia(P0.01),while no significant difference with the group of patients without cognitive impairment(P0.05).The score of SRAHP was related to the patients' educational level,economic status,ADL,and cognitive status(P0.01).Conclusion The patients with MCI have intact self-care ability which is affected by multiple factors and show individual differences.
