Abstract
Hemodynamic changes were studied pre- and postoperatively on eleven liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension patients subjected to splenectomy and portal-azygos disconnection by pulsed ultrasonic Doppler. The results showed that the volume of blood flow of main portal vein(MPV) and the umbilical portion(UP) and the right anterior branch of portal vein were decreased and the volume of blood flow of superior mesenteric vein was increased after operation. The free portal venous pressure (FPP) and congestion index(CI) were not changed in high degree before and after operation. The FPP was positively Correlated with the CI before operation (P0.05). The reduced volume of blood flow of the MPV and the umbilical portion were positively correlated with the volume of blood flow of splenic vein after operation (p0.01).
