Abstract
Smart antenna technology is one of the key technologies used in TD-SCDMA system. By using DSP algorithms to dynamically generate the beam patterns, smart antenna can greatly reduce the interference and increase the system capacity. Compared with traditional antenna system, smart antenna can effectively reduce intercell interference. In this paper, the concept of smart antenna is introduced and a novel detection technique called joint space-time processing is described. Finally, simulation results on the uplink performance of TD-SCDMA in outdoor environment are shown in the paper.
