On the Study on the Book of Songs Made by Hu Shi

Abstract

In the academic history,Hu Shi plays the role of a founder.Although Hu Shi did not focus much on the study of the Book of Songs,he is still one of those who lay the foundation of the modern study of the Book of Songs.His views on the Book of Songs basically represent the perspectives of the academe then.His trimness of the Book of Songs,which responds to the opinions of the traditional civilization campaign,set a new paradigm for the later study of the Book of Songs.Hu Shi's study of the Book of Songs not only has the special value and meaning,but also has many shortcomings.His study of the Book of Songs is the unique one in the modern history of study of the Book of Songs.
