Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the pharmacognostic character of Desmodium gangeticum( L. ) DC. METHODS The morphological identification and microscopic identification were adopted. RESULTS A large number of square crystals were observed in the narrow cortex of the root. Many square crystals and columnar crystals were found in the cortex, phloem and pith, and the collenchyma arranged in a ring in the cortex of the stem. The collateral bundles were observed in the principal vein with many square crystals in parenchyma cells of the leaf. CONCLUSION These results can be used for identification and application of Desmodium gangeticum.
