Abstract

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of hepatic artery embolization with iodinated oil emulsion of pingyangmycin for hepatic cavernous hemangioma. Methods Hepatic artery embolization with iodinated oil emulsion of pingyangmycin was performed in 40 patients with hepatic cavernous hemangioma via selective catheterization into the artery supplying blood to the tumor. Results The procedure was successful in all the patients. The tumors shrank, symptoms were remitted, and quality of life was markedly improved in the patients after treatment. No severe complications occurred. Conclusion Hepatic artery embolization with iodinated oil emulsion of pingyangmycin is effective and safe in the treatment of hepatic cavernous hemangioma.
