Fauna Characteristics and Ecological Distribution of Mammals in Luoshan National Nature Reserve in Ningxia

A comprehensive scientific investigation was conducted on the mammals in Luoshan National Nature Reserve using line transect method and survey method during October,2010 to December,2011.The fauna characteristics and ecological distribution of mammals in the area were researched based on the investigation and relevant data.A total of 36 species belonging to 6 orders,14 families and 31 genera were recorded.Among the mammals,the dominant groups are Rodentia(15 species,41.67% of the total).Among 36 species of the mammals in the Lushan area,25 species belong to the Palearetie realm,3 species(8.33%) belong to the Orienial realm and 8 species(22.22%) are widely distributed species.According to the animal fauna of China,among the mammals in the Luoshan area,30 species are North China cross zone type,the proportion of repeat counting reaches 83.33%.it shows that the fauna composition of mammals in Ningxia Luoshan area is more closely related to North China fauna.The analysis on ecological distribution of the mammals in Luoshan area shows the highest mammals species number is in mountain desert grassland(26 species),accounting for 72.22% of the mammals in Luoshan National Nature Reserve as far known.
