Abstract
By intragastric administration of melamine. The pathological changes and cytochemistry changes of kidney were observed in mice after exposed to melamine at different doses(0,175,350,700 mg/kg of body weight). Results showed that yellow or brown-yellow crystals were observed in the tubular lumen of melamine treated mice.In addition, renal tubular epithelium were showed degeneration, necrosis,or karyopyknosis and the tubular lumen were dilated in melamine treated mice.In conclusion, high dose melamine will induce the kidney seriously injured and the characteristic changes-the deposition of crystals in the tubular lumen-is of diagnostic value.
