Abstract
Pheasants and their conservation status in Wuyishan National Nature Reserve in Jiangxi province were surveyed during a period of 2004-2007.Totally 7 pheasant species were found, they were Cabot's Tragopan Tragopan caboti, Elliot's Pheasant Syrmaticus ellioti, White-necklaced Partridge Arborophila gingica, Silver Pheasant Lophura nycthemera, Chinese Bamboo Partridge Bambusicola thoracica, Koklass Pheasant Pucrasia macrolopha, Common Pheasant Phasianus colchicus.Among them, 2 species(Cabot's Tragopan and Elliot's Pheasant) were national first grade protected wildlife.With much larger protected area, primary forest and less disturbance, conservation status of pheasants in Wuyishan National Nature Reserve was good, while more survey and monitor work are needed.
