Comparison of Different Analgesia Methods Following the Lower Extremity's Surgery

Abstract

Objective: To compare the analgesia effects and side effects of tramadol for patient-controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA) and morphine with ropivacaine for patient-controlled epidural analgesia(PCEA) following the lower extremity's surgery.Methods: All of 64 patients(ASAⅠ~Ⅱ) undergoing the lower extremity's surgery were randomly assigned to tow groups: tramadol for patient-controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA group,n=32) and morphine with ropivacaine for patient-controlled epidural analgesia(PCEA group,n=32).PCIA group was given tramadol a loding dose 1 mg/kg at the end of surgery,then with the patient-controlled intravenous analgesia bump.The drugs of PCIA group: tramadol 800 mg+droperidol 5 mg+0.9%NS diluted to 100 ml.PCEA group was given epidural 0.125%ropivacaine 5 ml,then with the patient-controlled epidural analgesia pump.The drugs of PCEA group:1%ropivacaine 20 ml+morphine 10 mg+droperidol 5 mg+0.9%NS diluted to 100 ml.Postoperative pain scores,sedation scores,side effects were observed and recorded.Results: The VAS scores(pain scores) of PCIA was higher than that of PCEA(P0.01).The Ramsay scores(sedation scores) of PCIA was higher than that of PCEA(P0.01).But the side effect of PCEA was higher than that of PCIA obviously.Conclusion: The analgesia effect of morphine with ropivacaine for patient-controlled epidural analgesia(PCEA) following the lower extremity's surgery was better than that of tramadol for patient-controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA).
