Abstract

A novel chromium-free copper-base catalyst was prepared for the gas phase hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol.Effects of different promoters and content on the catalytic reactivity were studied.The results show that conversion of furfural is 100% and selectivity of furfuryl alcohol is 98.9% under the conditions of 150 ℃,1.0 MPa,H2/ furfural ratio 8.0 over Ca-promoted Cu/Al2O3 catalyst.
