The paper synthesizes many definitions of creative treason,and finds that it is often employed unclearly and confusedly in translation field.The paper raises that creative treason has both general meaning and specific meaning.The nature of creative treason is that it is an effective translational action for translator to take to achieve communication.There exist dialectic relations between it and faithfulness.Then the paper probes into the constraints of creative treason from the perspective of translation ethics.The paper provides a theoretical basis for the degrees of treason.
