Abstract

This paper makes a probe into the recognition of the concept ofshort storyand its relevant situation in the late Qing Dynasty.Influenced by western novels treanslated into Chinese,some of the short stories published in the period had begun to ignore the style of traditional Chinese short story and moved gradually towards a new one.
