Abstract
This thesis focuses on the analysis of a contradictory grammatical phenomenon: verbs used that are active in form but passive in meaning.Being called quasi-passive in English grammar,it demonstrates the gap between the structure and the meaning of a sentence,and further reveals to us the complication and the inherent law of English language.
