The Space Coupling Relationship between Population and Economy in Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone

Using the methods of regional gravity center and geographic concentration index,based on the population and GDP data of Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone from 2000 to 2010,the coupling characteristics of the population and economy in the economic zone are analyzed and the economic zone is divided into different developing types by means of the inconsistency index.The results show that the centers of population and economy of Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone are located in the east and the space evolution relationship between the two generally presents a coupling relationship.The deviation of the gravity center between population and economy illustrates the incompatibility of the regional development,but the gap between the two is becoming smaller year by year,which indicates that the incompatibility has been eased to some degree.According to the inconsistent index,Shandong Peninsula blue economic Zone can be divided into three categories,including population agglomeration ahead of economic agglomeration type,the coordinated population and economic agglomeration type and the population agglomeration lagging behind the economic agglomeration type.
