Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of nitric oxide (NO) on osteopontin expression in rat aortic vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC).Method:Rat aortic VSMC were cultured in vitro and incubated with different concentration of S-nitroso-N-acetylpenicillamine(SNAP),a nitric oxide donor for 48 hours. Then RT-PCR and Western bloting analysis were used to observe the osteopontin expression in rat VSMC.Result:Different concentration of SNAP could obviously reduce the mRNA expression and protein synthesis of OPN with a dose-dependence(P0.05). Conclusion:These results demonstrate that NO could inhibit osteopontin expression in rat VSMC.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
