Comparative study on the effect of valsartan and benazepril on left ventricle thickening and myocardial fibrosis resulting from hypertension

Objective To study the effect of valsartan and benazepril on left ventricle thickening and myocardial fibrosis resulting from hypertension.Methods The hypertension patients with left ventricle thickening and myocardial fibrosis were treated by valsartan and benazepril respectively.The parameters of left ventricle and PCⅢ,HA,and AngⅡ were measured respectively.Results PCⅢ,HA and AngⅡ in hypertension group were significantly higher than those in control group,and NO in hypertension group was significantly lower than that in control group before treatment.SBP,DSP,AngⅡ,PCⅢ,HA,IVST,LVPW,LVDd,LVM,and LVMI in both groups after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment(P0.05),and NO was significantly higher than that before treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Valsartan is as the same as benazepril to lower hypertension,inhibit left ventricle thickening and myocardial fibrosis.Valsartan has less adverse effect than benazepril.
