Efficacy of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in treatment of 141 patients with severe Lupus nephritis

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the efficacy of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in the treatment of severe lupus nephritis.Methods:275 patients with severe lupus nephritis were randomly divided into two groups.141 patients were treated with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine (groupⅠ);134 patients were treated with western medicine alone (groupⅡ).Results:The total remission rate was 85.1% in group Ⅰand 73.1% in group Ⅱ,with significant difference(P0.05).The incidence of adverse effect,relapse rate and mortality in group Ⅰwere significantly lower than those in groupⅡ.Conclusion:The effect of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine is obviously superior to western medicine alone in increasing clinical remission and improving prognosis of severe lupus nephritis.
