The Law, Educational System and Their Effects in the 19th Century Shanghai Concessions

Although the concessions in Shanghai were under the control of the westerners in the 19th century, the system culture, especially the law and educational system underwent the gradual changes,which not only modernized the concessions but deepened the understanding of Chinese living in the concessions about the western culture so that the whole country was pushed forward on the road of modernization.
