Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of compound Chinese herbs on the expression of hepatic tissue collagen type Ⅰ mRNA in CCl 4 induced cirrhosis rats. Methods The expression of hepatic tissue collagen type Ⅰ mRNA was determined by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT PCR). Results Collagen type Ⅰ mRNA levels(0 709±0 125)of the group with Chinese herbs were significantly lower than that of the group without receiving Chinese herbs(1 015±0 145), P 0 05,but it had no significant difference from control group(0 696±0 164). Conclusion Compound Chinese herbs can significantly decrease the expression of hepatic tissue collagen type Ⅰ mRNA in CCl 4 induced cirrhosis rats.
