Abstract

The Book of Songs covered a time span of over ,2000 years. It displayed with authentic texts the real situations of China's writing culture of the ancient times. The culture of Chinese style of writing started from the era of The Book of Songs. To make a systematic exploration of the texts in The Book of Songs from the aspects of the origin of writing, social environment, motivation, function, theme, language medium, transmitting and reception is a fundamental program in the study of the history of Chinese writing.
