Abstract

Objective:To provide theoretical basis for mandibul ar in cisor root canal filling by the study of the root canal shape of mandibular inci sor. Methods:We used the pulled out mandibular incisor to prepare transparent specimens and observed the shape of root canal in strong natural lig ht.Results:Of the specimens,74 4% were single root canal orific e and single apical foramen(1-1),6 4% were double root canal orifices and double apical foramina(2-2),13 2% were single root canal orifice, double root canals a nd single apical foramen(1-2-1),2 2% were double root canal orifice and single apical foramen(2-1),3 8% were single root canal orifice and double apical foram ina(1-2),and 22 5% had side and accessory root canals. Conclusion: The differences of the anatomical shape of root canal do exist among different races.
