CLINICAL STUDY ON LIVER’S FUNCTION INJURY AFTER TRANSCATHETER ARTERIALCHEMOEMBOLIIATION IN HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA PREVENTED WITH STRENGTHENINGSPLEEN AND ACTIVATING BLOOD CIRCULATION HERBS AND GLUTATION

Objective:To evaluate the effect of Chinese herbal medicines combined with Glutathion in treatment of liver function injury after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE).Methods:Sixty-four cases with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma were divided into two groups:group A(n=34) and group B (n=30).Strengthening the spleen and activating blood circulation Chinese herbs were used in group A before and after TACE,added some other Chinese medicines according to the symptoms and Glutathion after TACE.Glucurolactone and Inosine were used in group B before and after TACE.Liver function was measured in both group A and group B before the first TACE and one month after first and second TACE respectively.Results:In group A,compared with that before TACE,there were no statistically changes(or only a mild rise)in ALT,GGTP,TB and DB after the first and second TACE( P 0 05),and oppositly in group B( P 0 01).Conclusions:strengthening the spleen and activating blood circulation Chinese herbal medicines combined with Glutathion can prevent liver function injury after TACE.
