Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the outcome of the antibiotic prophylaxis in thoracic surgery in our hospital so as to provide references for the clinical rational use of drugs.METHODS:Of a total856thoracic surgery patients in our hospital,642were assigned to receive cefazolin or cefuroxime for antibiotic prophylaxis(scheme group)and214(control group)to receive first, second and third generation cephalosporin or other antibacterials, then the clinical effect was compared between2groups.RESULTS:The postoperative body temperature and blood routine showed no significant difference between2groups(P0.05),while the scheme group showed a lower rate of postoperative infection than did the control group, which stood at2.34%and5.61%,respectively(P0.05).CONCLUSIONS:The antibiotic prophylaxis scheme made by our hospital serves as an option for the antibiotic prophylaxis in thoracic surgery.
