Expression of EG-VEGF in normal endometrium and endometriosis

Abstract
Objective To study the expression of endocrine gland-derived vascular endothelial growth factor(EG-VEGF) in patients with endometriosis(EM),and the role of EG-VEGF in pathogenesis of endometriosis.Methods Ectopic endometrium was collected from 30 patients with endometriosis,and normal endometrium was got from 16 control women.The expression of EG-VEGF mRNA and VEGF mRNA in the ectopic and normal endometrium were detected and compared by quantitative RT-PCR.Meantime,the association between them was investigated.Result ① There was no significant difference in the expression level of EG-VEGF mRNA between the ectopic endometrium of endometriosis(0.05±0.56) and the normal endometrium of control group(0.025±0.25)(P0.05).But the expression level of VEGF mRNA in ectopic endometrium of endometriosis(0.68±0.48) was markedly higher than that in control group(0.16±0.55)(P0.05).② A correlation was not found between VEGF mRNA expression and EG-VEGF mRNA expression in ectopic endometrium of endometriosis(P0.05),and same as in the normal endometrium of control group.Conclusion Despite its expression in the endometriosis,the mechanism of EG-VEGF in the endometriosis remains to be further studied and confirmed.
