Abstract
Polyvinyl acetate/montmorillonite composite latex as a kind of coating was prepared by using semi-continuous polymerization,its structure was characterized by means of FT-IR and XRD,and the influence of mass-fraction of the montmorillonite on the content,hardness,and moistureproof ability of the solid-particle in the latex was investigated.The result showed that the polyvinyl acetate was well intercalated into the layered montmorillonite so that a type of intercalated polyvinyl acetate/montmorillonite nano-latex was obtained.When the mass-fraction of the montmorillonite was 7%,the hardness of coating formed by the nano-latex of polyvinyl acetate/montmorillonite was improved from 2 B to 3 H,the mass fraction of solid-particle reached 33.2%,and the coating film would not peal off in water during 100 h.Compared with common polyvinyl acetate latex,its moistureproof ability was greatly improved.
