A Study on the Relationship Between IAD and Locus of Control Among University Students

To explore the relationship between locus of control and internet addiction disorder(IAD) about university students,528 university students were investigated by LCP and IAD scales,Correlations between locus of control and IAD were analyzed.The results showed that the prevalence rate of IAD was 15.3%.Prevalence rate of IAD among freshman,sophomore and senior shows significant differences.There are significant differences in the mean of the other's control,exterior control,the internet addiction and some factors of internet addiction between IAD and normal student.The other's control and exterior control of university students significantly positively correlated with internet addiction and some factors of internet addiction(P0.05),as for the internet addiction and some factors of internet addiction among university students.the other's control and exterior control had some prediction effects.the value of prediction effects was about 0.25.The analyses show that sophomore and senior is the important stage in controlling the IAD,The other's control and exterior control of university students moderately correlate with internet addiction and some factors of internet addiction.
